Cold Lake Museums

The Cold Lake Museums group is a multi-theme museum located on the old site of 42 Radar Squadron.  Each museum is connected by a walkway.

Separate buildings house an Aboriginal Gallery, Heritage Gallery, Oil and Gas Gallery and the Air Force Museum.

The aboriginal museum was assembled with the joint efforts of the Cold Lake Native Friendship Centre and teh Cold Lake Museums.  Artifacts from dream catchers to fishing and trapping gear are mixed in a story line depicting the history of the Dene Suline and Cree Nations, as well as teh Metis people, living on teh shores of Cold Lake.

The Heritage Gallery contains the artifacts and storyline of that bygone era as well as the civilian history of the last century.

Visit the Oil and Gas Interpretive Gallery to discover the great developments in the oil sands industry in Cold Lake area.  Learn about the history, geology, production, transportation and various uses for Cold Lake oil.
